Weather Cancellation Policy

At Dwelling House Church, the safety of our church family is our top priority. During severe weather, we carefully evaluate conditions and make a decision about Sunday services by 6:00 AM.

How We Make the Decision

  • We will decide by 6:00 AM Sunday morning whether in-person services are cancelled.
  • If in-person services are cancelled, we will let you know if an online service will be available.

Other events (Midweek services, groups, rehearsals, classes, events, etc.)

  • Decisions will be made and communicated at least 2 hours before the scheduled start time.

How You’ll Be Notified

We will officially announce any cancellation through these three methods:
E-Newsletter – Subscribe on our website (or click here)
Text Messages – Opt in by filling out our Welcome Card (or click here)
Website – Check the homepage at dwellinghousechurch.com

As soon as you visit dwellinghousechurch.com, a pop-up with the latest decision will appear. We also usually post it as an Instagram/Facebook Story for convenience, but the website, email, and text alerts are the official sources.

Please check one of these sources Sunday morning (or at least 2 hours before any other event). If you do not see an official cancellation through these channels, services are still happening in person.

Traveling to Church

Even if services are not cancelled, we ask that you only travel if you feel it is safe to do so. Road conditions, weather, and driving safety can vary greatly depending on your location and vehicle. Please use your best judgment—we completely understand if you decide to stay home.

Kids Ministry & Nursery

If in-person services are on, our Kids Ministry and nursery will remain open unless otherwise announced.

Ministry Team Members

If services are not cancelled and you are scheduled to serve (kids ministry, worship team, greeters, ushers, etc.), but you do not feel safe traveling, please contact your ministry team leader as soon as possible to let them know you will not be able to serve.

Quick Checklist for Sunday Mornings

  1. Check email, text, or dwellinghousechurch.com by 6:00 AM (pop-up appears immediately)
  2. Look for the official cancellation notice
  3. If no cancellation is announced → services are on
  4. Only travel if you feel safe
  5. Scheduled to serve? Contact your team leader if staying home

We’re grateful for your understanding and flexibility during winter weather. If you have any questions, feel free to reply to the newsletter or call the church office.
