A joyful moment at a water baptism

Welcome home

You said yes to Jesus.

That's the best decision you will ever make, and heaven is celebrating it right now. Here's what just happened, and a few simple steps for what comes next.

Tell us you said yes and a pastor will reach out. No pressure, just a welcome.

Something real just happened.

When you gave your life to Jesus, you didn't just turn over a new leaf. You were born again. Your sins are forgiven, your past doesn't get the last word, and God calls you a brand-new person (2 Corinthians 5:17). You are loved more than you ever thought you could be loved.

Jesus said there is joy in the presence of the angels over one person who turns to God (Luke 15:10). That's you. And if you're coming back after years away, you're the son in Jesus' story whose father saw him coming and ran to meet him. Nobody's keeping score. You're family now, and we're so glad you're here.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
2 Corinthians 5:17

Six next steps

So what do I do now?

You don't have to figure everything out today. Following Jesus is a relationship, not a checklist. Here are six ways to grow in it, one step at a time.

  1. Spend time with God

Prayer is simply talking with God, and listening. You don't need fancy words or a perfectly quiet house. Give Him a few minutes every day. Jesus said only one thing is needed, and it's what Mary chose when she sat at His feet (Luke 10:42).

  2. Read the Bible

The Bible is how you get to know Jesus: what He's like, what He said, and how much He loves you. You don't have to start at Genesis. Read along with us. The whole church reads the same New Testament chapter every day (Psalm 119:105).

  3. Get baptized in water

Baptism is how you tell the world you belong to Jesus, and it's more than a symbol. You go under the water buried with Him and come up raised to new life (Romans 6:4). We'd love to celebrate with you at our next Water Baptism Sunday.

  4. Find your church family

Nobody grows up alone. Newborn babies need a family, and so do newborn believers. Join us Sundays at 10am at 3102 Prairie Rd, then find a small group where people pray for each other and grow together through the week (Hebrews 10:25).

  5. Be filled with the Spirit

The same Holy Spirit who filled the first believers wants to fill you with power to love Jesus, live for Him, and tell others about Him. When it happened to them, they prayed in languages they had never learned. It's a gift, and Jesus said the Father gives the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him (Luke 11:13). So ask. A pastor would love to pray with you.

  6. Share Jesus with someone

You don't need a theology degree. You just need your story: what life was like, how you met Jesus, and what's different now. Jesus told one man He had set free to go home and tell his friends what the Lord had done for him (Mark 5:19). Who's the first person who comes to mind?

Hungry for more?

Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). The Jesus who met you this week will meet you tomorrow, and every day after that. Here are a few places to keep getting to know Him.

Tell us your good news.

Let us know you said yes to Jesus, and a pastor will reach out to celebrate with you and help with whatever's next.
